🛎️ Jack Dorsey’s Square launches BNPL service in the UK with Clearpay
Block, the US fintech co-founded by Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey, is expanding its buy now, pay later (BNPL) services to UK clients through integration with subsidiary Clearpay.
Now, the US company is entering the crowded UK BNPL space through a partnership with Clearpay, also known as Afterpay outside of Europe. Block, originally known as Square, purchased the UK-based startup in January with plans to integrate its BNPL functionality.
Square will provide BNPL services to UK clients through Clearpay as part of its package of services, allowing both in-store and online BNPL transactions.

✏️ AI is now used to produce less than 1% of web content. Within the next 10 years, I believe that AI will produce or augment at least 50% of web content.

The rate of progress is astounding. The advancements are the result of decades of machine learning and computing innovation and technological advances, which include:
— Hardware: By combining Moore's law with Denard scaling, as well as parallelization and enhanced GPU architectures, we can train larger models with more data.
— Data architecture: The introduction of the transformer, a model architecture, has accelerated the development and success of LLMs. Transformers"self-attention' characteristic enables them to develop long-distance connections and, as a result, find diverse utility across fields like as computational biology (e.g., AlphaFold2) and natural language processing (e.g. transformer-based LLMs).
— Few-shot learning: LLMs benefit from few-shot learning in the following ways: They can complete some activities with little or no instruction. Domains with little data may suddenly be in play. Because identifying massive datasets has traditionally been a bottleneck and expense centre for businesses, these features will expedite innovation and startup formation.

The year is 2024.
You walk into your local coffee shop.
A latte costs $12.
You have the choice of tipping 75%, 95%, or 125%.
You sheepishly tap "75%" and feel bad about yourself.
The barista shakes his head in disgust.
